Unit Weekly News for 1-7 Jan

Happy New Years,

We hope everyone is having a great break and holiday. A big congratulations to our Cyber Team for winning 1st place in South Carolina following the State Round of the Air Force Association’s Cyber Patriot National Cyber Defense Competition. They topped 26 other SC JROTC teams and finished nationally in the top 25% in a pool of 243 AFJROTC teams, which enables them to compete in the national semi-finals on Jan 20th.

We will be hitting the ground running in 2024 with major events coming up every month through the end of the school year.

Jan 27th, Fierce Fox Meet: We are host to 19-20 regional area JROTC programs for competitions in Drill, Air Rifle, Academics, Raiders, Drone & Rocketry. We are seeking 6-8 parent volunteers to help with our AFJROTC Booster sponsored Concession Sales and Judges Hospitality room. Concessions run from 0800-1330 and the hospitality room is from 0600-1100. If interested in volunteering, please email me with your name and what time you are willing to volunteer.

Feb 23d, Air Force Headquarters Unit Inspection from 0700-1500 (during school). We will need all of our cadets looking sharp in the Service Dress Uniform for our major graded inspection. This is a cadet led program and the inspector will be examining all aspects of the cadets and their unit. We look forward to the opportunity to shine and show our successes!

Mar 9th, Military Ball – the ball committee has been meeting monthly to plan a great event. More details will be forthcoming.

April 25-28th, Curriculum in Action Field Trip to Washington DC and Kings Dominion.
