Unit Weekly News for 23-29 Sep 2024

Writer: Col Jeff WilkinsonCol Jeff Wilkinson

Greetings Parents,

Thank you again for all who attended last week’s family night.  Our cadets did an outstanding job and we hope it was informative and worthwhile.

Our capstone fundraiser of the year, SnapRaise, will kick off this Friday.  It has emerged as a great way for people personally vested in our cadets to make a contribution toward their success.  We receive the greatest % of donations made compared to other fundraisers.  SnapRaise funds the bulk of our program costs including field trips, team competitions, travel to community service events, equipment and more.  In fact the Air Force only funds our uniforms and about half of our summer CLC program.

Our ask is for cadets to create an account and load emails of people who personally know them.   Currently we have 1,066 emails loaded.  Last year we submitted over 1,600 emails to achieve our goals.  PLEASE help your sons and daughters to identify and load emails.   Bravo, Echo and Command Staff flights are doing well, all other flight members need your help!

SnapRaise’s top priority is email security and privacy and protects their reputation by only using these emails for this specific fundraiser and will not sell the information nor use the emails outside of our campaign.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help at our annual community service event on October 12th at St George’s Episcopal Church where we help unload pumpkins for their pumpkin patch.  If you are available during the day, we welcome your participation to both be there as a chaperone for the cadets, but also to pitch in to help unload if you can.  If you are interested, please email me.  I anticipate we will have 35-40 cadets participating from across all flights and year groups.
